Cars

Traveling to Hawaii? Recheck your rental rates frequently before your departure. My rates dropped significantly with Thrifty and I rebooked three times for a savings of over 300.00.

Best advice I can give you when you rent a car is to go to their website and sign up with their frequent renter program....Avis has Red Carpet, National has the Emerald Club, etc....

You may not necessarily get a better price, but you will get little travel benefits that can really help you out.

For example, when I rented my car in San Francisco, we used Alamo. Two days before we arrived I signed up with their frequent renter program-Quicksilver. I did not get a better rate but when I arrived at the airport rental location and saw the mile long line of people it sure brightened my day to find out there was a special check in line for Quicksilver members. Yesssss. There was NOBODY in that line! It saved us at least an hour of waiting in line....
