Well, Hurricane Sandy has turned into a royal bitch and is as we speak, wreaking havoc on the entire Eastern Seaboard. I imagine work for me tomorrow will be a nightmare with all the flight cancellations and delays. Below, I am posting a list of current airline re-accommodation policies. Pay careful attention to the policies and before you cancel or change plans on your own, watch what the airlines do. Until they make a change to your flight, you are obligated for any penalties.

Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Storm

We are operating our scheduled service to/from all of our airports.
Due to the uncertainty of the forecasted conditions and breadth of the storm’s potential impact, AirTran is offering flexible travel accommodations for our Customers who are planning to travel to/from RIC, BDA, BOS, BWI, DCA, PHL, and LGA on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30.
Travel Options
From two days prior to three days after the original scheduled departure date.
To adjust your travel plans, you may retrieve your itinerary and make changes online.
We urge passengers to check flight status online in the Flight Status section of our website.

Due to the projected path of the hurricane, American Airlines offer customers the convenience to change their plans. Customers ticketed to travel on AA flights to, through, or from the airport listed may change flights as shown below.

Rescheduling Flights

If your flight is canceled or significantly delayed, you are entitled to a refund. Even if your flight is not canceled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from, or through the following cities on Delta, Delta Connection®, or Delta-coded flights during the specified time periods listed below.

Conditions and Restrictions

Changes to origins and destinations may result in an increase in fare. Any difference in fare between your original ticket and the new ticket will be collected at the time of booking.



Southwest Airlines:

Southwest has no cancellations as of 10/28/12 and does not charge cancellation/change fees anyhow.


United Airlines:

In some cases where severe weather and other uncontrollable events are impacting United’s operations, we may, at our sole discretion issue an exception policy designed to accommodate customers with restricted tickets who wish to change their travel in advance of any potential disruption.
