Airport Closings. Urgent.

Hurricane Sandy continues to head in a northerly direction and will make a sharp turn to the west tomorrow afternoon, heading for landfall over New Jersey. Operations will be suspended at key airports according to the timeline below, with a plan to restart the operation around midday Tuesday, subject to forecast changes and/or airport conditions.

· Operations at LGA, JFK, EWR and PHL are being suspended starting today with this evening’s last flights.

· Operations at BDL, BOS, BWI, DCA, IAD, ORF, PHF, PVD, PWM and RIC will be suspended beginning tomorrow morning.

Winds are in the 70-80kt range. Most of the airports listed above are expecting gusts in the 50-65 kt range during the day tomorrow and into the evening with some seeing sustained winds in the 35 kts to 45 kt range.
